Petroleum Coke (Green Coke, Pet Coke)
Petroleum Coke is a residual product from a part of the crude oil refining process which involves upgrading the heaviest portions of the petroleum barrel to more valuable lighter products such as gasoline and distillates using a coking unit.
Petroleum Coke is defined as a black solid residue, obtained mainly by cracking and carbonizing of petroleum derived feedstocks, vacuum bottoms, tar and pitches in processes such as delayed coking or fluid coking. It consists mainly of carbon (90 to 95 %) and has a low ash content.
